I am my own muse. I am the subject I know best. The subject I want to know better.
Frida Kahlo
I am not sure exactly when the Muse made herself known to me in the way she has now, as a light, a guide, a mystery we can always hear if only we are listening. I do remember though, little glances of her existence – on a website, in a book, a necklace I didn’t buy but kept thinking about. I think of the Muse as an entity that we carry within and also exists in everything outside of us, a goddess of sorts, a savior even. There are so many ways to word a belief and so many ways of seeing, but I think what really matters is – believing. I trust inspiration more than I trust most things, the whisper that says “create,” or “move,” or “wait.” What I carry with me, from my past or my dreams, is infinitely influenced by a gentle pull from the universe, the Muse, creation itself.
- the muse is always listening
- the universe believes in me too
- i am drafting a website again because I am finally listening in ways I was not able to before
- perhaps I still struggle with my self-doubt, but I do not doubt the Muse
- the truth is, even in my mess, I am magic still – too.
It feels good to write words again that don’t have to be condensed for quick viewing. People who come here will perhaps care to reach a little deeper. And if not, I will leave a piece of myself here regardless, an offering to all that is true.
